Tata Mini Essay

BY REGISTERING, YOU (THE “PARTICIPANT” OR “YOU” OR “STUDENT” OR “SCHOOL” OR  “PARENTS” OR “GUARDIAN”, AS THE CASE MAY BE) AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE FOLLOWING  TERMS AND CONDITIONS IN CONNECTION WITH THE TATA BUILDING INDIA DIGITAL MINI  ESSAYS (THE “TATA BUILDING INDIA DIGITAL MINI ESSAYS” OR THE “EVENT”). THE EVENT WILL  BE CONDUCTED BY “TATA SONS PVT. LTD.” (HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS THE  “ORGANIZERS”) 

 

PARTICIPATION: 

  • This Event is open to only educational institutions located in India. 
  • There is NO ENTRY FEE. 
  • Participants are hereby informed that Organizers do not charge or pay any  participation fee for taking part in the Event. Any offer or communication made by  any third-party requiring a participation fee in cash or kind and/ or offering money should not be entertained. 
  • Organizers shall neither be liable nor responsible for any loss suffered by the  Participants if they act in response to any such fraudulent offer made by any third  party. Participants shall promptly inform the Organizers in the event of receipt of  any such fraudulent offer. 

Any number of students from a school, from 1st to 12th standard, can participate  in the Event. The Event is open to school students across India in the following 3  categories: 

▪ Primary – Classes 1st – 5th (Winner and Runners Up) 

▪ Junior – Classes 6th – 8th (Winner and Runners Up) 

▪ Senior – Classes 9th – 12th (Winner and Runners Up) 

MEDIUM OF EVENT: 

  • The Tata Building India Digital Mini Essays is an online event and will be organized on a digital platform. 
  • The registrations for this Event shall be done online, and the link will be updated  on https://tataminiessay.com 
  • The Organizers will undertake reasonable measures to ensure the technology requirements for the Event. However, the Organizers shall not be liable or responsible for any technological glitch or malfunction of the Event platform. 
  • The Organizers reserve the right to alter/ amend/ modify any rules of the Event  related to format, date, prizes, etc. at any time without any notice whatsoever.

    The Organizers retain the right to make any changes to the Event, its format, date, rules, and in any matter related to this Event, at any time before or during the Event at their sole discretion. 
  • The Organizers reserve the right to withdraw or terminate this Event at any time without prior notice and without incurring any liability whatsoever.

REGISTRATION:

  • All registered schools will receive a confirmation email once their registration is verified. 
  • Once you register for/ participate in this Event, you confirm your acceptance of the format, prizes, and Organizers’ decisions, including judging of essays by artificial intelligence (AI), which will be final and binding and no correspondence in this regard would be entertained. 
  • By registering for and competing in the Event, the Participants permit themselves  to be photographed/ videographed/ recorded by electronic and print mediums for  telecast/ publication and other display usage of the Organizers. 
  • By registering for the Event, you also indicate your acceptance to these terms and your consent to the effect that the Organizers can send you communication from time to time regarding similar events or any other initiatives by the Organizers or their group entities. 
  • The Participants agree that the Organizers would in no way be liable or responsible for the internet connectivity that is required for the Event. It is the sole  responsibility of the Participant to equip themselves with necessary internet  facilities to take part in this Event. 
  • Organizers reserve the right to accept or reject any application to registration and/  or entries for the Event in their sole and absolute discretion. 
  • The Organizers do not bear any liability or responsibility for submission of  incorrect contact details by the School/ Participant/ Parent/ Guardian.

EVENT RULES: 

  • Topic: Each student must submit a short, original essay on the Topic: “What do  you love about India”. 
  • Length: Submissions should not exceed 250 words. Keep your essay clear,  concise, and impactful. 
  • Languages: Submissions are accepted in multiple languages to ensure inclusivity.  Students are free to write in any one of Hindi, English, Marathi, Gujarati,  Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu or Urdu. 
  • Format: The submission must be entered through the designated platform only.  Handwritten or offline submissions will not be accepted. 
  • Individual Submissions: Each Participant is allowed to submit only one mini  essay. Multiple submissions from the same student will not be considered and  the Participant will be disqualified. 
  • School & Individual Participation: 
  • Through Schools: If you are submitting your nomination through your  school’s registration link, you will be redirected to the participation  submission page to make your entry. 
  • Independent Participants: If you are submitting your nomination  independently, you will need to enter your school’s name manually. 
  • Evaluation: All submissions will be evaluated using AI-based evaluation  techniques followed by manual reviews for shortlisted entries. 
  • The Participants hereby acknowledge and agree that any and all video/ image/ asset received including the essays submitted as a part of this Event from the  Participants shall become the perpetual property of the Organizers with full rights  and ownership and the Participants grant the Organizers an irrevocable,  worldwide, exclusive, royalty-free and perpetual rights over the same. The  Organizers can choose to use the video/ image/ asset/ essays across any  medium, any time in its sole and absolute discretion. 

FAIR CONDUCT: 

  • This is an individual participation event, and Participants are required to  participate only on their own, without any proxies and without any help from any other individuals, family members or anyone else at any stage of the Event.  Organizers reserve the right to cancel any individual’s participation in case the  Organizers are convinced of any breach of the rules. 
  • A student can participate only once from their school. They must produce valid  identification and contact details during registration or as and when required by  the Organizers. 
  • The Participants will ensure fair play at the Event and shall abide by all the rules  of the Event and uphold the true spirit of competition and not indulge in any unfair  means, at any stage of the Event, including but not limited to fraudulent or  multiple registrations, use of unfair means during the course of the Event such as  plagiarised content, submitting spam and/ or false details or AI generated  content. 
  • Any form of manipulation, misrepresentation, use of unfair means and the like will lead to immediate disqualification. 
  • If any actions of the Participant at any stage of the Event are found objectionable  by the Organizers and seem to be in violation of any of the rules of the Event, they  shall accept the decision of the Organizers, and which will be final and binding on  all issues related to Tata Building India Digital Mini Essays. 
  • The Organizers reserve the right to request certain checks and verifications to  ensure fair play during different phases of the Event. 
  • The Organizers may require certain details such as government id cards, etc. from  the Participants/ winners of the Event, for the purposes of reaching out to them  with regards to their participation, winning of the Event and also distribution of  prizes as the case may be. 
  • The submissions must comply with the following rules and may be disqualified if  the Organizers have reason to believe, in their sole discretion, that the submission  does not comply with the following requirements: 

▪ Adhere to the terms of the Terms and Conditions of participation/  undertaking and any additional rules stated at the beginning of the Tata  Building India Digital Mini Essays; 

▪ Not violate the terms of use of any social media service, website, mobile  application, software, software license terms or any other platform used  in connection with your submission; 

▪ Not contain, depict or refer to any crude, vulgar, obscene, sexually  explicit, disparaging, discriminatory, offensive, illegal or otherwise  unsuitable language activity or other content; 

▪ Not contain, depict or refer to any content which disparages or refers to  the Organizers negatively, or any other person or entity; and 

▪ Not contain any content that violates any law or any third party’s rights  (including privacy and intellectual property rights). 

PRIZES: 

  • The Organizers may take any actions necessary to verify Participants’ compliance  with the Terms and Conditions of participation or undertaking before awarding a  prize. Participants and/ or schools understand and acknowledge that even though  the student/ school may be announced as a winner, if the school’s or the student’s  compliance with the Terms and Conditions of participation/ undertaking cannot  be verified to the satisfaction of the Organizers, then the Organizers will select an  alternative winner with the next highest score based on the same evaluation criteria. The decisions of the Organizers shall be final and binding, and the  Organizers will not correspond with the Participants about the determination of  the winners. 
  • Prizes will be distributed on the basis of the quality of the entries, participation  rates of schools, and at the full discretion of the Organizers. Participants are  cautioned against anyone claiming to represent as Organizers making any false  assurances. 
  • The Organizers reserve the right to substitute a prize, with that of comparable  value. All taxes and other expenses, costs, or fees associated with the  acceptance and/ or use of any prize are the sole responsibility of winners. Prizes  cannot be transferred or substituted by winner. If a prize is unclaimed within 10 (ten) days after notification from the Organizers, it will be forfeited, and an  alternative winner may be selected from the remaining eligible submissions at the  Organizers’ sole discretion. 
  • Prizes once awarded will be final and there would be no exchange/ substitution of  the prizes to the winners. 
  • Neither the Organizers nor the sponsors, or employees, consultants, agents, third  party service providers of the Organizers may be held liable for any warranty,  costs, damage, injury, or any other claims incurred as a result of usage of the prize  by the winner once delivered by the Organizers. 
  • If the specified prize becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, the  Organizers may substitute the prize at their sole discretion.

MISCELLANEOUS: 

  • If any individual has any questions or suggestions about the Event, they are  welcome to contact tatabuildingindia@tata.com.
  • The failure of the Organizers to comply with any provision of the Terms and  Conditions of participation/ undertaking due to an act of God, hurricane, war, fire,  riot, earthquake, terrorism, act of public enemies, actions of governmental  authorities beyond the control of the Organizers (excepting compliance with  applicable codes and regulations), or other “force majeure” event will not be  considered a breach of the Terms and Conditions of participation/ undertaking.  The Organizers assume no responsibility for any injury or damage to any person’s  computer relating to or resulting from downloading materials or software in  connection with the Event. The Organizers are not responsible for  telecommunication, network, electronic, technical, or computer failures of any  kind; for inaccurate transcription of submission information; for errors in any  promotional or marketing materials or in the Terms and Conditions of  participation/ undertaking; for any human or electronic error; or for submissions  that are stolen, misdirected, garbled, delayed, lost, late, damaged, or returned.
  • These Terms and Conditions shall prevail over any inconsistent terms, conditions,  provisions, or representations contained in any other promotional or advertising  materials for the Event. In the event of any inconsistency, conflict, ambiguity, or  discrepancy between the any other advertisements etc., these Terms and  Conditions shall prevail at all times.
  • If any act, omission, event, or circumstance occurs which is beyond the  reasonable control of the Organizers and which prevents the Organizers from  complying with these Terms and Conditions, the Participant(s) acknowledge and agree not to hold the Organizers liable for any failure to perform or for any delay in  performing their obligations.
  • The Participants acknowledge and agree to not hold the Organizers liable for the  outcome of the Event and any liability on the Organizers is hereby specifically  waived by the Participants to the fullest extent possible under applicable laws.

PERSONAL INFORMATION: 

  • The Participants acknowledge and agree that his/ her/ their name and contact  information will be collected upon registration for the Tata Building India Digital  Mini Essays. The Organizers may use or disclose this information to their affiliates,  service providers and/ or advisors globally solely for purposes of
          • fulfilling their regulatory obligations in connection with the Tata Building India Digital Mini  Essays and the Tata Building India School Essay Competition;
          • as otherwise  required to conduct the Tata Building India Digital Mini Essays and the Tata  Building India School Essay Competition, including to confirm the eligibility of  Participants and to communicate with Participants regarding the Tata Building  India Digital Mini Essays and the Tata Building India School Essay Competition,
          • to be contacted via email, phone and WhatsApp for marketing purposes in  connection with future events, Tata Building India Digital Mini Essays and the Tata  Building India School Essay Competition and other services that may be of  interest, and
          • to exercise their rights under the Terms and Conditions of  participation/ undertaking, including any further contact of the Participant in  connection with any commercial use of the submission
          • for publicity of the  Event over social media
          • For declaration of results of the Tata Building India  Digital Mini Essays and the Tata Building India School Essay Competition through  Social media and Websites.
          • For notifications regarding Tata Building India  Digital Mini Essays and the Tata Building India School Essay Competition, any  surveys and any other communication of Tata group of companies. Except as  contemplated above, personal information will not be sold, rented or provided to  anyone for commercial or marketing purposes.

GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION:

  • These Terms and Conditions of participation/ undertaking will be governed by and  construed in accordance with the laws of India and in the event of any claim,  action or dispute arising under or relating to these Terms and Conditions, will be  subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts at Mumbai.

     

PARENTAL/ GUARDIAN CONSENT AND COMPLIANCE 

  • By allowing their child/ ward to participate in the Event, parents/ guardians (as  applicable) and Schools agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions on  behalf of the student. They acknowledge that they have read, understood, and  accepted all the rules and regulations governing the Event, and undertake to  ensure that the student adheres to the same.
